teaching the grown folk too

We are teaching at the vocational training center despite what my lack of posts about it might show :) I seriously ALWAYS forget my camera. Maybe that is because actually getting there with everything I need AND being prepared AND being on time AND having the girls taken care of in my absence is a miracle in and of itself. Seriously, let's celebrate that folks. (And tons of Asantes to Doro who takes care of my rowdy girls in addition to her 4 watoto every week so I can teach).
But I finally managed to bring the camera along a few weeks back and we snapped some pictures in preparation for our grand opening ceremony in a couple weeks. Here are a few: the sign of a classroom with new tile floors, the up-to-date view from the gate, the first ever Kozi ya Msingi ya Kiingereza class (Basic English class), me talking away, and some pictures of Mwalimu Mkali in action teaching Kompyuta (Basic Computer). Lots of cars are in and out almost everyday for repairs in the workshop too. We are excited to see the school really being used and, we pray, blessing people here with skills they can use to better their and their family's lives.

What how far it has come since Katy and I were there. It is beautiful. Did the guy who sold me my sign and mask ever take the computer class? You gave him a card, remember? Glad it is running so well. Now, come home soon!

He was there to listen and try to learn English...although my explanations in Kiswahili were not that helpful to him either! ANd Mom, no the shop owner never came...maybe next round of classes?
