it is beginning to feel a lot like Krismasi

Collage1
Last weekend we decided it was overdue and time for us to get ready for Krismasi (a favorite Kiswahili word of mine as it takes the butchering of the English language to new heights). We turned up the fans to full volume, cranked the holiday music, and put the 12 ornaments we have on our lil' Charlie Brown tree. We even forced ourselves to drink hot peppermint lattes because that is just plain necessary. We danced, we sang way too loud, we cut paper snowflakes, Evy tried to eat ornaments, we glittered everything, and we even started a new family tradition (more later). Somehow listening to "lovely weather for a sleigh ride together with you" and "baby it's cold outside" while sweat drips from your face (hey- hanging paper snowflakes is hard work!) just seemed ridiculous but we embrace all that is Krismasi hapa. During our festivities Annikah astutely concluded that snow was due any minute. Her hopes of snow on Christmas were dashed by our explanation that it would probably NOT snow here EVER. But that would not stop this family from building a "snowman"! Next stop: the beach cuz that is how we roll. Yep, We are in the Krismasi spirit for sure.

So cute! We also put up a small tree on a table to try to save it from Wesley's learnings to fall, I mean walk. I am glad I was able to get a bit caught up on your life today. Love and miss you. Laura
