the Midwest redeemed

untitled-122
It is no secret that I am NOT a Midwest weather lovin' person. I find snow and freezing temps and digging my car out of dirty ice and snow pretty much heinous.  I would happily wear flip flops year round but this past weekend J and I left the watoto with the fam and escaped for an hour and enjoyed a short hike lakeside with views that made me decided I love the Midwest ....almost (ask me again in February)...

the sunset painted amazing colors across the sky and in the reflection over the lake

It was dead quiet and completely peaceful.  We could only hear the crunchy leaves underfoot.

the ice dripped off the fallen trees like crystals

romantic and beautiful and requiring worship and awe

I do love the season changes we receive in the Midwest, even though some seasons are harder to endure than others. Such beautiful pictures! You captured it well. Breathtaking! Maybe you should add landscape photography to your repertoire on Hawa Images. ;)
