surfing lessons....memories of wiping out.

IMG_9980
One morning this week we piled in the car bright and early and went for surfing lessons at Muizenberg Beach. The scenery was absolutely gorgeous and Chloe offered to wrangle the five kids on the beach and take pictures while Jason, I, and Chloe and Tim's oldest son Jethro took surfing lessons for an hour and a 1/2. Yes, she gets rockstar award! It was my first go at surfing and I can now confirm it is not my calling in life. Fun but hard work for sure!! And I would like to state that if surfing on your knees was a sport I would be just marvelous at it. Unfortunately for me since the object of real surfing is to actually stand for more than 2 seconds I am afraid it is simply not my sport. I still had an amazing time wiping out again and again (except for one incidence when the board hit my head...shame!). My nickname may be "Roxy" but my tall self with big hips was not on my side in this particular water adventure. Jason and Jethro faired much better but how could you not enjoy surfing or wiping out repeatedly (in my case) against this backdrop? Amazing opportunity! Surf's up dude!

So glad you are having a wonderful time. So wish I was there or anywhere else than here dealing with GMA and GPA. If I ever get this bad, kill me!
Have you gone to the wine country yet? I'm sure you and the girls will not want to go home to 100 degree heat. Enjoy, enjoy. Love, Bibi
