kid's camp

Or as it was referred to everyday "kid's party" was a blast! The last week the team from Chicago was here we did 2 hours a day for 3 days in a row of singing, stories, crafts, and games for the kids from Shule ya Imani (and some more that added themselves daily). Games was BIG people!! Then the last night we invited the parents for snacks, listening to the kid's show off their singing, and watching a slide show of the week. Each child also got a goody bag with cookies, candy, a pair of flip flops, and a pencil case; all donated by the awesome team of Chicagoans. It was a crazy 3 days to be sure... especially for me as I tried to help, translate, and wrangle my own children but I would never have traded it. I even got to use real fish for a lesson! Being with large crazy groups of watoto is my sweet spot! Each day kids would pack into my car...I think the new limit is 21...and we would head over to Pamoja (because the chaos simply could not be contained or managed at our house). The kids were so excited everyday and are still asking me when the Wazungu will come back and do another party! Welcome to our kid's party....
